Through our various methods, we can identify and mark defects or signs of corrosion; which could create potentially damaging and costly problems while in the field. Our highly trained team of inspectors and managers receive in-house and outside training in magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, thread gauging, SEA, drill pipe, ultrasonic and electromagnetic inspection principals. We maintain current certifications, in strict compliance with API specifications, to ensure that your tubulars meet the specified mark.
PTS introduced the first full-body phased-array ultrasonic inspection system (FBUT) in 2006 at our Channelview, TX facility. Since its introduction, this system has been used by many pipe manufacturers such as: Boomerang Tube, VAM Drilling and Tenaris, and is qualified for many end-users, including such as, Exxon, Chevron, Shell and BHP.
Electromagnetic Inspection machines are cost effective and efficient methods in detecting surface flaws and cracks. However, EMI systems combined with Gamma and/or Magnetic Flux wall measurement systems are not very accurate with regards to coverage and wall thickness accuracy.
