Inventory Management

From the point of acquisition, PTS employees are the only authorized personnel to handle incoming tubular goods. Our operators and supervisors have extensive experience and training with our specialized equipment for handling tubular goods.

PTS facilities in Morgan City, LA and Channelview, TX use API height-specific storage racks to accommodate range 1, 2, and 3 length materials. Each facility is equipped with cranes and heavy capacity forklifts to handle the most demanding loads. Our equipment and structures include special features to isolate metal-to-metal contact for higher alloyed materials when needed. Also, our forklifts are equipped with custom designed overhead clamps to hold the loads safely and securely.

PTS developed proprietary, web-based inventory software that provides real-time electronic inventory status for each customer. The Tubular Inventory Management System (T.I.M.S.) gives each customer the ability to access inventory. Inventory data may be downloaded to a spreadsheet for analysis and reporting purposes. Once materials are placed in storage, the system assigns a unique identification number used to track the material to and from each service area and includes dispositions of the services performed. Shipping and receiving documents are updated daily to the customer. Monthly inventory status reports are given to the customer at the end of month. Description, quantity, footages, weights, and rack locations are included in these reports.
